TROPHY®
APS

Trophy® APS is a hard-kill protection system designed to defeat incoming threats before they hit the vehicle. Developed for modern armored platforms, Trophy® APS detects, tracks, classifies, and neutralizes hostile projectiles in real time, enabling a rapid defensive response in highly dynamic combat environments. The system is fully mature, globally operational, and has been saving lives since 2011. It is already fielded by NATO users and integrated on a growing range of Western combat vehicle platforms.

What distinguishes Trophy® APS is not only its proven intercept capability, but also the operational value it adds beyond protection alone. In addition to defeating advanced anti-tank attacks, the system provides real-time situational awareness that helps crews identify the source of fire and react immediately. This makes Trophy® APS more than a survivability solution: it also contributes to tactical responsiveness and combat effectiveness in multi-domain operations.

PROTECTION AGAINST GROUND AND AERIAL THREATS

To meet the demands of current and evolving threat scenarios, Trophy® APS is designed to counter rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), anti-tank rockets (ATRs), and high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) threats. In addition, its protection spectrum also includes top-attack threats as well as drones and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). These threats have added a new dimension to modern battlefield risk, as they expand the attack vector beyond the horizontal plane and further increase the importance of effective top-attack protection. With 360° coverage and advanced detection and processing capabilities, Trophy® APS delivers the speed and precision required for modern vehicle survivability.

PROVEN ACROSS MULTIPLE COMBAT VEHICLE PLATFORMS

The adaptability of Trophy® APS is reflected in its successful integration on major armored platforms. These include Leopard 2 A8, Boxer, Patria AMV XP 8x8, Abrams M1, and Merkava IV, underlining the system’s flexibility for both main battle tanks and other tracked or wheeled combat vehicles. This broad platform relevance is a key reason why Trophy® APS is increasingly regarded as a benchmark for active protection in Europe and beyond.

RADAR ANTENNA
Four Radar Antennas are installed on the platform, providing full 360° coverage for the detection and tracking of incoming threats.

LAUNCHER
Two Launchers are installed on the platform, enabling the rapid movement of the countermeasures (CM) in azimuth and elevation, thus aiming the CM at the predicted hit point to neutralize the threat.

COUNTERMEASURE
The Countermeasures (CM) are mounted on the Launchers, when triggered, the CM issues Multiple Explosively Formed Penetrators (MEFP) which intercept the threat at a standoff distance.

AUTOLOADER
Two Autoloaders are paired with the Launchers, allowing a reload of additional CMs on the Launchers automatically.

HOW TROPHY® APS WORKS

DETECT
An integrated radar detects and classifies incoming threats.

TRACK & ALERT
The system tracks the threat in real time, calculates the optimal interception point, and alerts the crew.

INTERCEPT
If the threat is deemed dangerous, it is automatically neutralized by the countermeasure. An additional countermeasure is automatically reloaded.

REACT
In parallel, the enemy launcher is detected and can be targeted and engaged, either by the vehicle itself or by connected forces via the Battle Management System (BMS).
